Working Within Professional Boundaries
All Harris Equine Training courses are designed with veterinary referral and professional scope of practice at their core. Practitioners are trained to recognise the boundaries of their role, identify when veterinary involvement is required, and act on that without hesitation.
Our training is aligned with relevant UK legislation including the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, the Animal Welfare Act 2006, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 — ensuring that every qualified practitioner understands not just how to do their job, but the legal and ethical framework within which they must do it.
Horse welfare is non-negotiable. Knowing when to refer is just as important as knowing how to practice.

Yes, this is an absolute prerequisite. The Advanced Certificate is designed for practitioners who have already completed the Equine Intimate Health Diploma.
We do also take into account relevant prior learning so please get in touch to discuss if you aren’t sure.
If you haven't completed the diploma, please explore that programme first.

The course officially opens on 15th May 2026. The theory modules are self-paced, so you move through the 10 modules in your own time.
Upon successful completion of the theory component’s, a practical assessment will be arranged with your tutor.
The 2026 dates are between 30th August and 30th September.
You will need access to 3 mares with suitable temperament for your practical assessment.
